Assemblage Project

This installation utilizes a set of children's laser tag toys coated in enamel. The finish mimics current western military aesthetics in effort to draw connections between children and modern military conquest. A wooden board acts as the required surface to define the work as an assemblage. The white finish is intended to reference the white gallery space and its contemplative nature. In regards to composition the subtle placement of one lowered laser pistol and the less subtle bullet riddled chest piece imply a loser in the game of laser tag. Bullets beg the question of whether the game is innocent much in the same way that the coyote brown paint does.
