Mixed Media Drawing, In class project EXPLORING PLACE

This project required the exploration of a "specific location" through various 2-D media. My spot was a long hedge that straddles the boundary between my childhood neighborhood and a small agricultural plot. As adolescents my brothers and I owned the night and would often end up against the hedge reminiscing over a flask or cigar. This subtle rebellion always ended up in a night of skating and a few laughs. The imagery of this piece is various figures and scapes superimposed across and onto one another. "Kricket," my younger brother, and I spent his relatively forgotten 20th birthday celebrating here with another cigar and shenanigans captured in a candid photo shoot. The play of space aims to animate the passage of time and these treasured memories made in the space.
